Trails
The community of Port Ludlow and its developers, Port Ludlow Associates, are both committed to building and maintaining a great walking trail system. We already have several trail loops that range from a half-mile to 4-5 miles of hiking. Trails range from easy to moderate difficulty and travel throughout Port Ludlow's magnificent terrain. Along the way you'll find wonderful mountain and bay views with frequent sightings of deer, raccoons, rabbits, and perhaps you'll even see a cougar. And of course birds abound in this natural habitat. Even our golf course has been designated an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. If you plan to hike up along Teal Lake, bring your fishing gear along. Anglers say the lake is well stocked each year and you may just get lucky! The trout are huge according to local resident, Bill Taylor and he should know. Take a look at what Bill caught in spring of 2003. Come, experience the wonder of Port Ludlow.Regional State Parks In the surrounding area you will find many beautiful state parks that provide you with great hiking trails, beaches filled with all sorts of sea creatures, plus boating access for the avid fisherman and the recreational boater. Camping and day picnic sites also abound in the greater Port Ludlow area along with activities such as snow shoeing and skiing up on Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic Mountains. Especially great parks that are close by are Fort Flagler, Fort Worden, Dosewallips and Anderson Lake.
